Well Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, New Years etc. are coming up fast. So this weekend we would like to give you a few tips to read over and think about as you plan for the busy holiday season!
- Schedule Ahead – Think about any appointments you may need to make, a haircut for example, and carefully plan them into your schedule. Make sure you have time to fit everything in.
- Wrap Easy – Set up a little gift wrapping center in your house. Stock it up with all the tools you need, paper, ribbons, scissors, tissue paper, tape etc. Make sure you are ready to go at a moments notice.
- Think Ahead – If you think of something that you need, don’t just try to remember it! Write it down! If you are at the post office and you remember you need more stamps for the holidays, go get stamps! If you need clothes dry cleaned, don’t waste time… Get on it.
- Shortcuts – If you have to bring dessert to several parties don’t feel bad about buying something. Do you really need to cook cookies for every party? Maybe even plan out events so you can use the same center pieces, or silverware?
- Mail Early – Make sure you get all your mail for the holidays out ahead of time.
- Keep Track – Make sure you have a calendar with you so you can always be planning as you go.
- Stock the CD Player/iPod – Make sure you always have music and play lists ready to go.
- Create Beauty with Decor you can Reuse – Similar to step 4. If you do not have a stockpile of decorations, now is the time to start. Mark boxes with easy to see writing and make sure your items are adorned with hooks and wire so they are ready to go when you need them.
- Mark It - Making cookies for a party? Put them in a bag and mark it so you remember where they go. Do this for food items, or decorations. Also get some sticky notes so you can organize and come back to things later. Like “Wreath for the Front Door.”
- Allow for “You” Time – Make sure when you plan you are always making time for you. Personal time is important so you don’t get too stressed!
